This model
demonstrates what a subluxation looks like and how it effects the nerves
that exit between the bones of the spine. The second bone from the
top is subluxated on the bone below it. The area that is circled
demonstrates what happens to a nerve when the vertebrae are subluxated.
As you can see, there is interference to the nerve impulses. In
other words, the nerve is not functioning properly. When this
occurs, the organs or tissues connected to the nerves cannot function
normally. This can lead to a variety of aches, pains and ailments.
The presence of pain or symptoms, however, is not a particularly good
indication of the presence of subluxations.
Very commonly, this
interference to normal nerve functions by subluxations doesn't become
known until it's too late, ie. disease and degeneration has already
become too advanced to be reversed. This is why it is so
important to have regular chiropractic check-ups, much like you
would get regular dental check-ups, or regular oil changes for your car.
For the simple reason of preventing future pains and problems.
As a chiropractor, it is
my primary concern to locate and correct spinal subluxations regardless
of how you feel. Maintenance of your spine through Chiropractic
Care is the only way you can be guaranteed of a healthy body.
